Welcome to the ​Rotorua Yacht Club

Situated near Ohinemutu on the Lake Rotorua waterfront, you'll find us sailing dinghy yachts and catamarans most Sunday afternoons during the summer months. ​We usually rig from 12:30pm, to be on the water by 2pm.

We offer Learn to Sail Youth and Adult Sailing Programmes.  ​Popular learning classes include Optimist, Open Skiff, Laser (4.7, Radial and Standard), Topaz and Hobie catamarans.  ​​Our sheltered lake is superb for experienced sailors and those who are just getting started.

2022 AGM of Rotorua Yacht Club (Incorporated)

Sunday 18 June 2023, 11:00am – 12:00 noon, at Rotorua Yacht Club.
The meeting will be held in accordance with the Rules of the Rotorua Yacht Club and will be followed by an informal lunch.  Members please bring a plate.

Club Racing

RYC 'Prada Cup' Match Racing

10:00-15:00
Registration 10am.  First race starts at 11am.  All members welcome.  One-on-one Topaz match racing knockout competition with a Plate Series for first knockouts.  Everyone gets at least two races.  See Club Calendar for details.
Entry fees is $10 for each sailor, to cover boat hire, lunch and prizes.
