Welcome to the Rotorua Yacht Club
Situated near Ohinemutu on the Lake Rotorua waterfront, you'll find us sailing dinghy yachts and catamarans most Sunday afternoons during the summer months. We usually rig from 12:30pm, to be on the water by 2pm.
We offer Learn to Sail Youth and Adult Sailing Programmes. Popular learning classes include Optimist, Laser (4.7, Radial and Standard), Topaz and Hobie catamarans. Our sheltered lake is superb for experienced sailors and those who are just getting started.

Twilight Racing
Social sailing series held on Monday and Thursday evenings during daylight savings. All members welcome. Depends on support. 4:30-7:00pm. Cancellations and updates on Messenger chat group. Rigging from 4:30pm. First race at 5:15pm. RYC Mini America's Cup & Club Picnic TBC Registration from 9:30am. Fun social event for all members. See club calendar for details. All members welcome. Entry fee ($10) per sailor covers BBQ, boat hire and prizes.

Early Bird Registration closes at 2pm, Thursday 16 October 2025. $80 for single-handed boats or $100 for crewed boats.
