Learn to Sail Programme
Lessons run from Sunday 10 November 2019 to Sunday 15 December 2019; and then after Christmas, from Sunday 9 February 2020 to Sunday 5 April 2020. Learn to Sail Session Times: We run sessions on Sundays and Thursdays (weather dependent): Sundays (9am - 12 noon):
Thursdays (4:30pm - 7pm):
Our childrens programme begins in simple and robust Optimist boats, provided by Rotorua Yacht Club. Parents are under no obligation to buy a boat before starting the course. Adult courses are also available. If you don't own a boat, you can sail a club Topaz or Laser. |
Costs
Levels 1 & 2 cost $125 each, including boat hire and coaching. Sailors who sign up for levels 1 & 2 in the same season are entitled to free Rotorua Yacht Club membership for that season. Level 3 costs $65 per season, plus annual membership, for sailors using their own boat, or $130 per season for those using a club boat. For safety reasons, the organisers reserve the right to pair youth in double-handed boats in stronger winds, or to develop different skills. This will be at no extra charge.
